Government Arrogance Is Out Of Control! [07/24/07 ] I sat dumbfounded as I watched U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton defend his prosecution of Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean in a recent interview with CNN's Lou Dobbs. To just about anyone who knows anything about this case, the prosecution and subsequent imprisonment of these two agents (who were simply attempting to enforce our nation's immigration and drug laws) is an unfathomable miscarriage of justice. Yet, Sutton has repeatedly (with great smugness and pride, I might add) done everything but brag about putting these two officers in prison.

Needed: 3-Dimensional Leaders [06/07/07 ] I recently delivered a Sunday address entitled "The 3-Dimensional Life." This address was motivated by my belief that a major part of America's overall problem today derives from the fact that most people, including our leaders, live 1-dimensional lives. For the most part, they are ignorant of the past and oblivious to the future. Such people are incapable of making wise decisions, because they are only living for the present.

And it seems that all they look for and all they expect from their civil magistrates is that he or she make public profession of Christianity. But most every politician professes to be a Christian--at least every two years, or in the case of a presidential candidate, every four years.

Enjoy the Sideshow [03/29/07 ] That Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez lied to Congress now seems obvious. It is also clear that now Congress wants Gonzalez, Karl Rove and others to testify under oath about the matter. At issue, of course, is the White House firing of eight U.S. attorneys. While everyone (especially Republicans) seems preoccupied with the fact that U.S. attorneys serve at the pleasure of the President and may be fired at his discretion, they conveniently overlook the circumstances surrounding their dismissal.

Forget Impeachment: Grab The Tar And Feathers [03/15/07 ] In this column last week, I asked the question, Should President George W. Bush be impeached? The specific precursor for that question was the guilty verdict of former White House insider Lewis "Scooter" Libby. In my mind, that trial and subsequent conviction demonstrated that there is more than enough circumstantial evidence to warrant a thorough investigation into whether President Bush willfully manipulated evidence regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in Iraq and whether he deliberately lied to the American people in order to justify a pre-determined plan to launch a preemptive attack on that country.

Red Carpet For Illegals [02/26/07 ] Since George W. Bush became President of the United States in 2001, the number of illegal aliens residing in this country has risen exponentially. An accurate number is impossible to determine, but educated estimates range from 12 million to 30 million.

Presidential Frontrunners Would Surrender America's Borders [02/08/07 ] Looking at the potential presidential frontrunners for both the Democrat and Republican parties reveals that virtually everyone of them would surrender America's borders. Not one of the presidential frontrunners from either party would protect our borders against illegal immigration. Just the opposite. They would continue George Bush's policy of wide open borders, including his determination to grant amnesty to illegals. In other words, when it comes to protecting our borders, there is not a nickel's worth of difference between the two major parties' leading presidential contenders.
